al-Asl Mutūn — the Khāqāniyyah, the Jazariyyah, the Shāṭibiyyah and the Ṭayyibah
al-Asl Mutūn is a reading and memorization app for four classical texts of Qurʾanic recitation. It is offered by the al-Asl Institute. We have designed it to need as little of your information as possible.
We do not collect, store, or share any personal information. There is no account, no sign-in, and no tracking of who you are.
The app saves your reading preferences (such as which translation to show), bookmarks, personal notes, memorization progress and last reading position on your own device. All of this stays in your device's local storage, is never sent to us or to anyone else, and is removed if you clear the app's data. The Memorize panel's Back up / Export feature simply copies your progress for you to keep — it goes only where you paste it.
The app shows pages from our website (mutun.al-asl.com) and downloads the texts, fonts, recitation audio (served from our hosting provider’s storage) and any PDFs you open so that they can also be used offline. Standard, non-identifying technical requests (such as the page address being loaded) are handled by the web server in the ordinary course of serving a website; we do not use them to identify individuals.
When the app is installed from Google Play or the Apple App Store, Google or Apple may collect certain information in accordance with their own policies (for example, basic installation and crash diagnostics). That collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy or Apple's Privacy Policy respectively, not by us.
The app contains only educational religious texts and their translations. It is suitable for all ages and does not collect information from anyone, including children.
